Author Alan Douglas was an Electrical Engineer who loved vintage test equipment. Not only is this a guide to a fast-growing collecting field, but it is also a very good reference for restorers and technicians who might need inexpensive test equipment for their work. 166 pages are divided into three main sections, Tube Testers, Component Measurements, and Signal Measurements. Each of these categories are organized by manufacturer so that a specific model may be quickly found. Douglas goes beyond describing the equipment, however. There are many invaluable tips for actually using the equipment, and for restoring its circuitry. The illustrations are clear and sharp.
