Welcome to Electric Radio!

Here you can subscribe to the popular Electric Radio magazine, now in in circulation over 30 years. Electric Radio is published bi-monthly primarily for those who appreciate and continue to use vintage radio communications equipment and also for those who are interested in the rich history of radio.

Looking for something specific? There are two ways to search for back issues and topics, please see the “shop back issues” page for direct links.

You can also purchase a number of related products like the popular Collins and Hammarlund service and repair DVDs, Drake data CDs, and many radio-related books and other products. Choose the Resource selection just to the right, “News Items,” to see important updated information.

We depend on our readers to supply material for Electric Radio. Our reader’s interest is in articles that pertain to vintage amateur or shortwave equipment, with an emphasis on traditional AM, but articles on CW and SSB are also needed. Photos of hams in their radio shacks are always appreciated. We invite those interested in writing for Electric Radio to write, call, or E-Mail the editor. Electric Radio wishes to thank all of our regular contributors for their fine work.

Due to continuing problems with the United States Postal Service, DO NOT expect timely delivery as in years past…this is totally out of our control once the monthly issues are turned over to USPS. In some areas, even the 1st Class issues have taken over 30 days to arrive. Expect 4 or 5 days for 1st-Class delivery and up to 3 weeks for Periodicals-class issues.

Please be aware of extended delivery times per the USPS web site: “Except for priority express, USPS products and packages may require more time to be delivered due to limited transportation availability as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 impacts.” We have lately found delivery times to be totally unpredictable. In normal times, it used to be about 3-4 days for 1st class delivery and up to 3 weeks for Periodicals-class delivery.
